If there is a day that covers your product, service, or industry, you should at least acknowledge that you know about it and maybe have some commentary. Remember, much of your content is designed to help convince your customers and prospects that you have good expertise in what interested them in the first place.
It doesn’t always necessarily have to be directly related to your product or service. You can choose something that’s fun and you know will engage your customers or perhaps recognizes a cause or charity your organization supports. Choose which platform best suits this approach.
Take it up a notch. Offer a promotion or special in “Honor” of the day. Make it a limited time offer and something of value to them. Perhaps use it is a way to get a prospect to move into being a new customer or a way of getting a current customer to buy additional services or products. Be creative and have fun with it.
Choose one of the suggested links and search for topics related to your industry or the fun topics as described above. Do some research and create some useful content. Build a blog entry and or social media posts. Add it to your annual marketing editorial content calendar so you always remember each year to have something useful to engage your customers.
You can plan this out a whole year in advance by using the resources above to search for applicable topics. This is the perfect time of year to do some annual planning for your 2019 Editorial Calendar.
